Natolie Hochhausen is a Shareholder in the HR & Employment practice group at FMJ. Her practice focuses on advising businesses and individuals on human resource and employment issues such as discrimination and harassment prevention, employment procedures and policies, employment training, employee benefits, hiring and termination practices, FMLA and leaves of absence, compliance with employment laws, investigations, post-employment restrictive covenants, confidentiality restrictions, and more.

Natolie can provide clients with sophisticated guidance on the above employment law issues, and she offers practical advice to help navigate the complexities of day-to-day employee relations issues. She understands that building an effective client relationship requires mutual trust and candor, as well as an understanding of the client’s priorities and expectations.

Prior to joining FMJ, Natolie was an in-house attorney at a medical supplies company with over 7,500 employees. She advised on corporate legal matters including employee leaves and accommodations, employee benefits, internal complaints and investigations, hiring and onboarding practices, restructures and reductions in force, employment-related contracts, wage and hour matters, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, employment-based immigration, and international business travel.

When an employment issue arises, you need an attorney who not only knows the law but also understands and appreciates your business. At FMJ, we combine our knowledge of the law with our understanding of our clients’ businesses and goals to produce optimal outcomes, even when dealing with challenging circumstances. We guide our clients through the complexities of employment procedures and policies, employee benefits and compensation, hiring and termination practices, and compliance with ever-changing employment laws.

We understand that preparation and prevention are critical in creating a productive workplace and minimizing litigation risk. As such, we offer HR & Employment Advising across the full spectrum of employment law. Our services include advising and guiding clients to help them develop effective employment policies, handbooks, procedures, and agreements; providing training and advice for leaders, managers, and HR professionals; and helping to navigate employee relations issues that may arise.

FMJ litigates all types of employment claims in state and federal courtrooms throughout the nation, and FMJ is prepared to protect your interests. We represent individuals, entrepreneurs, and small, medium, and large organizations ranging from privately-held businesses to Fortune 500 companies, and our clients work across all industries.

Fafinski Mark & Johnson (FMJ) is a full-service commercial law firm that practices differently. Since our inception in 1999, our primary goal has been providing the knowledge, experience, and sophistication of a big firm, with the responsive, agile, customer-service model of a smaller firm.  In other words, FMJ provides sophisticated and accessible legal service at a lower cost and compelling value.

We work with owners and managers of a diverse portfolio of multi-million dollar businesses. FMJ also works with a wide variety of small- to mid-sized organizations, sole proprietors, entrepreneurs, and individuals. We pride ourselves in our ability to earn each client’s trust and respect, far beyond the typical attorney-client relationship.

Our firm has struck a chord with individuals and businesses of all sizes (publicly and privately held) that are seeking an alternative to the “Big Law” experience. FMJ tailors its service to each client’s needs. We regularly represent Fortune 500 companies in a variety of matters, but as a firm that began with four people, we are also passionate about working with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and start-ups.

We want to know and understand your business and your goals, and we want to integrate our team with yours as much as possible.  Our attorneys serve as project managers for each transaction, case, or matter, and we function as a client’s “in-house” counsel or an extension of the in-house team already in place.

Our integrated, team-based approach allows us to provide our clients with world-class representation combined with the level of responsiveness and attention that is only possible in a smaller, more agile working environment.

I have learned that each business has unique needs when it comes to employment practices. I take an individualized approach and aim not only to help my client resolve immediate workplace concerns, but also to provide guidance and resources that will work for my client’s organization long-term.
