Canada: Blowing The Whistle On The Whistleblower Program

Davies has submitted a letter to the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) commenting on Staff’s framework for a proposed Whistleblower Program. The Whistleblower Program would be the first of its kind for Canadian securities regulators and only the second whistleblower program in Canada to offer a financial incentive.

United States: Higher Chicago Minimum Wage Takes Effect July 1, 2015

HIGHLIGHTS:

Chicago’s minimum wage will increase to $10.00 per hour beginning July 1, 2015.
This is the first of a series of annual tiered minimum wage increases that will extend through 2019.
Any employer who (1) maintains a business facility in Chicago or (2) is subject to Chicago licensing requirements is subject to Chicago’s minimum wage ordinance.
